Chris Over Vice President, Sales & Installation
Chris Over is Vice President of Sales & Installations for Class 1 Inc.
He has been in the mechanical contracting business since 1983 and has specialized in the installation of medical gas systems for over 20 years. As the industry has evolved, so has Chris, going from plumber's apprentice to management.
Chris has built an expert team of over 30 professional plumbers, the best in the business, who install nothing but medical gas piping systems in hospitals on a daily basis across Canada. There is not much in the way of medical gas piping that he has not seen.
Chris is also very involved in medical gas training. He developed the first medical gas installation course geared towards plumbers in 1990 and has been putting on seminars throughout Canada and the U.S.
ever since.
Chris has been an active member of the CSA Technical Subcommittee on Medical Gases for over 10 years. Chris continues to volunteer his time to work on several CSA Standards including the Medical Gas Pipeline Standard, CSA Z7396.1, where he chairs the working group on installation and pipelines.

Chris Hylands Project Manager & Estimator
Chris started in the construction industry in 1985 as a sheet metal apprentice with Adelt Mechanical. After some time pursuing other interests in the 90's, Chris returned to the industry and was issued his Certificate of Qualification as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker in 2002.
Chris started taking construction estimating courses at Sheridan College in 1998, and began his estimating career with Adelt in 2000. He completed the Mechanical Estimating course through the Mechanical Contractors Association in 2002. He moved on to Black & McDonald Ltd. in 2005 as a Project Manager and Estimator.
Chris enjoyed three years of progressive estimating and project management experience at Black & McDonald before joining Class 1 in 2008.

Brendan Fernandes Medical Gas Installation Foreman
Brendan began his career by working for a mechanical wholesaler, where he gained valuable experience with all facets of the mechanical trade. He began his apprenticeship in 1990 and now, as a licensed Plumber, has 17 years of successful and progressive work experience in healthcare and hospital environments, with the last 10 years dedicated strictly to the medical gas industry.
Brendan has been a worker, foreman and/or supervisor for every aspect of medical gas installations from managing complete hospital additions, to simple outlet repair, to coordinating complicated source of supply system replacements. He is also fully trained in Cryogenic Cylinders and Bulk Gas Installations.
Brendan finds the medical gas industry uniquely rewarding and has gained a greater appreciation for the challenges and complexities faced by the healthcare industry.

Eric Bambridge Medical Gas Installation Foreman
Eric began his plumbing apprenticeship in 1982 and was licensed in 1987. He began installing medical gas systems in 1990 after taking a medical gas course taught by his current boss, Chris Over.
Eric now teaches Medical Gas Installations at UA Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 46 in Toronto, as well as, other locations in Canada.

Mike Baratto Medical Gas Installation Foreman
Mike Baratto joined Class 1 in 2006. He started in the medical gas field in 1988 as a Service Technician, and worked his way up to Operations Manager servicing hospitals from coast-to-coast.
Mike switched to construction in 1999 and has worked his way up to becoming the Manager of the Niagara Health Project, the largest, most state-of-the-art, infrastructure project currently being undertaken by the Province of Ontario using the P3 model.
Mike enjoys the flexibility of the medical gas field, "always new sites, new people, and working to better the healthcare buildings in our communities."
Mike was 24 when he started in the medical gas field and has made it his career for almost 22 years.
"Now with the Class 1 team, I hope to continue to work until retirement, making my mark on the healthcare industry."

Bob Talbot Medical Gas Installation Foreman
Bob began his Plumber and Steamfitter Apprenticeship in 1975. He has been installing medical gas pipeline systems since 1989.
Bob has been a Foreman for many major medical gas projects including; Sick Kid's Atrium, Trillium Health, Toronto General Clinical Services Building and multiple design-built projects.
Bob enjoys medical gas work, especially the travel and the opportunity to meet and work with different people and facilities.

Mike Gaunt Medical Gas Installation Foreman
Mike came to Canada from Newcastle, England in 1968 when he was six years old. He did the usual kid stuff, scouts, camp, newspaper route and organized hockey, which he still plays.
Mike entered the plumbing trade in 1984, and remembers his father encouraged his decision noting, "it can lead to many opportunities."
After a varied career working for companies large and small, installing and servicing plumbing, heating, compressors, boilers and nuclear systems, Mike has spent the last 10 years managing major projects including hospitals.

Sandy Clarke Medical Gas Installation Foreman
Sandy has been married to Michelle for 15 years and they have two children; Jaimie, 11, who just qualified with her partner for the Ontario Winter Games in March; and Matthew, 9, who loves playing Atom Rep Hockey out of Elmvale.
Sandy began his apprenticeship in 1989.

Bruno began his apprenticeship in 1999. He has had progressive supervisory experience in a number of large projects. Bruno has specialized in medical gas installations since joining Class 1 in 2007.
