Facilities Service Technician-GTA

THE MISSION

Reporting to the Business Line Manager - Aftermarket, this role will be trained to perform Preventative Maintenance and Emergency Servicing on various Medical Gas Supply Systems and their control panels at Class 1 Inc.’s hospital, medical facilities, and other customer locations. This position places a strong focus on presenting a positive attitude to our customers and service team and must have knowledge and technical skills for troubleshooting (by phone or on sites) the repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. After training, this role must also be able to propose and carry out corrective action needed for repair within safety guidelines and on-site protocols for equipment warranty support, maintenance and repair in medical environments.

TRAVEL
The Facilities Service Technician will travel locally to customers throughout the GTA and within Ontario and, on occasion, may need to travel to remote locations across Canada as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience in the knowledge, concepts, procedures, troubleshooting and repair techniques, for electrical and mechanical systems to diagnose equipment problems and/or failures
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or ticket from an accredited post-secondary or technical/vocational institution (or equivalent experience)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driver’s abstract (abstract will be required)
  • Must provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to see with corrected eyesight of 20/20
  • Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis throughout shift

Project Administrator

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Secondary & Mechanical Customer Order Coordination

  • Assist customers with product inquiries
  • Take and process customer orders, end to end
  • Enter customer orders in ERP system and follow up with purchasing if needed
  • Schedule production and coordinate customer deliveries
  • Work with engineering on any custom requirements
  • Attend production meetings as required
  • Update the production schedule
  • Tracking and scheduling or shipments in progress
  • Back-up for the Project Coordinator and Project Manager

2. Coordination of In-House Release for Architectural and Secondary Builds

  • Enter orders into company ERP system
  • Request shop drawings from engineering for customer approval (if required)
  • Field customer inquiries regarding shop drawing questions and approval
  • Follow up with customer for approval, ship dates and release of job
  • Prepare customer/project file on server and maintain
  • Create build, project binder for production
  • Release project based on required date to production team and purchasing to order
  • Prepare shipping paperwork
  • Prepare order for invoicing
  • Update booked orders in WIP folder when shipped
  • Coordinate with site delivery, deficiencies and tracking of delivery (with help of account manager)

3. Audit Performance of Orders

  • Update QMS with actual ship dates for on time delivery targets
  • Send out customer satisfaction surveys
  • Collect customer feedback and forward to regulatory for input into QMs system
  • Authorize returns of products not required upon project close and apply restocking fee if required

KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficient in ERP Software (SAP preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (including Excel)
  • Bilingual in English & French (speaking and writing) considered an asset
  • Experience in manufacturing considered an asset

Mechanical Systems Design Engineer

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create new product design drawings to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain all standard product design drawings
  • BOM creation and updates and BOM maintenance for products in serial production
  • Input BOM to ERP system when new configuration or spare kit required
  • Update existing manuals and specifications and create submittals for applying new product designs
  • Lead the part number request process for new part introduction
  • Maintain and update the mass data in engineering team for different requirements such as shipping/logistic requirements, production, and service
  • Liaise with production and service personnel to provide technical assistance to maintain production schedules and best practices
  • Assist in Engineering projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in an engineering or technologist role within manufacturing environment
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract may be required
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check may be required
